THIS JUST IN: Tony Cox is just confirmed as special guest artist at RaKA 2011! Time and day to be confirmed at festival. Sien julle by die river!
RAKA is South Africa’s chillest Unplugged Music Festival held on the banks of the Breederivier outside Swellendam.
Kam’Bati River Resort is one of the best and most beautiful venues for a music festival in South Africa: a large lawn on the banks of the Breede River. The campsite under the large trees creates an ideal atmosphere for winding down and the bar and facilities are top quality.

What discerns the RAKA festival further from other festivals is the fact that bands perform unplugged. This creates a unique and relaxed atmosphere for bands and fans alike.
Tickets are available on Computicket @ R250 or R300 at the gate. Tickets include camping.
About RAKA:
Celebrating its fourth year, RaKA (short for Rivier @ Kam’Bati Akoestiek) is an annual acoustic (unplugged) rockshow on the banks of the Breede River, just outside Swellendam. A fest for the connoisseur, RaKA has been building a small but steady following of folks who like to lie low and lay back for a weekend away, while enjoying some rare finds in terms of setting and sounds. We’re talking about a festival that won’t back down when it comes to quality in music, production and camping facilities, but is extremely laid back in every other way. If you’re looking for a festival / breakaway weekend that is relaxed, unplugged, family friendly, attitude free, fun, outside, low priced, great on the eyes and the ears, not too close and not too far – pull in and RaKA RUSTIG MAN!
